Is Hungry in Bondi (follow-on pun from last post)…”I”

Nine cuisines in a year, and I’m feeling pretty wordly!

[You may have noticed a slight change in format with the alpha dinners. Decided to separate them into individual letters. I'd like to blame Dave for not knowing his alphabet and getting confused with how to read blog posts. It does make it easier, so thank you, Dave!]

Israeli in Bondi

I is for Israeli

Na-Na Mediterranean Cuisine, 13 O’Brien Street, Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia

Organised by NAT on Friday night, November 2009

4 Idiots

The Originals (minus Alanna) and Nat (AKA Alannat).

Ingestion

Standouts were felafel and hummus plate, tahina dip, labne and dolmade platter and the tasty lamb cutlets.

Note the hummus is LICKED. CLEAN.The foods. For the feeds. Note the difference in facials to those of below...Food makes us happy. All 4 look like we were enjoying it though. Just some take it more seriously than others.

Impression

9.5/10

Pros – Awesome food. Great to share. Very economic [$25 pp and we were stuffed]. Great service.

Cons – Semi-authentic Israeli, according to our Israeli background friend Alannat [staff and chefs were not speaking Hebrew. And yes, we do realise the restaurant is called "Mediterranean", but its referred to as Israeli and has some traditional Israeli dishes. Nat did eat at Sabbaba, the other Israeli eatery in Bondi but said the ingredients were as high quality as Na-Na].

After-party antics

Red wine sippage on Bondi Beach. Kareoke until the wee hours of the morning. Sleep over and DVD watching at my place. Breakfast and beach outing. One of the best nights.

Oh, flattery will get you more hummus. So I’d say the right answer is my books. ;)
